Hello MYGS Families!
We are so excited to kick off the 2026 City League Softball season with our Spring Opener this Sunday, April 12th at 4:30 PM at the Mosinee High School Gym! We can’t wait to see everyone and get the season started.
Below is some important information to help your family prepare for the event and the upcoming season:
🥎 Spring Opener Details
Date: Sunday, April 12th
Time: 4:30 PM
Location: Mosinee High School Gym
At the Spring Opener, players will:
- Meet their coaches and teammates
- Receive their team roster and game schedule
- Pick up raffle tickets
đź“… City League Schedule
Your player’s full game schedule will be handed out at the Spring Opener. We’ve worked hard to ensure:
- Balanced matchups across all teams
- Even distribution of game times
- A fun and fair experience for all players
Please review your schedule carefully once received and reach out if you have any questions.
đź“– City League Rules & Expectations
To help ensure a positive experience for everyone, we will be sharing our City League rules at the Spring Opener. A few key reminders:
- This is a recreational league focused on development, learning, and fun
- Coaches and board members are parent volunteers dedicating their time to help players grow
- Umpires and league organizers are also doing their best to support a great season
We kindly ask all families to:
- Show respect to players, coaches, umpires, and other spectators
- Encourage all athletes, not just your own
- Help us create a positive and supportive environment
đź‘• Jerseys & Equipment
Jerseys will be distributed by coaches at next week’s practices.
For your player’s first practice, please make sure they bring:
- A face mask (required)
- A glove (required)
- A water bottle
- A batting helmet (if they have one)
- Warm clothing, as practices may be held in cooler weather
Coaches will have a limited number of extra batting helmets available if needed; however, face masks and gloves are required for all players.
Cleats are not required, but if your player chooses to wear them, they must be rubber cleats only (no metal cleats allowed).
Players should not wear shorts to practices or games, as they will be learning proper sliding techniques throughout the season. This is especially important for the Majors division (3rd–5th grade), but is strongly recommended for all divisions.
